Here you'll find What is pornmortem, users, features, marketing...

Well, it all started for kicks, really. I just wanted to have some fun. But then, it hit me—this could be more than just a laugh. I figured, why not turn it into my own personal showcase? Show the world what I'm capable of, minus the whole coding thing. Yeah, believe it or not, I whipped up this website from scratch, no coding required. Started off with WordPress, but this new version? Way cooler. I tinkered around with prompts and tools until it looked just right. And hey, I thought, why not document the process? Maybe to show off a bit, maybe to score some gigs. Who knows where it might take me, right?

Why create a porn website?

It all began with a daring thought: imagine if, after someone's passing, there was a liberated space where people could openly explore that person's private photos, even their naughty videos, without judgment or shame. The concept stemmed from a curiosity about our digital legacies and the unspoken intrigue surrounding intimate moments. What if there was a platform where individuals could quell their curiosity without feeling guilty? This sparked the idea for my website, where users could discreetly satisfy their curiosity about whether certain content existed, creating a safe and open environment for exploration.

Imagine my thrill as I explored the vast landscape of possibilities and faced down technical hurdles head-on. Researching online legacies left me surprised by the scarcity of information, which only fueled my determination to dive deeper. I found myself brimming with ideas, questions, and challenges that kept me on my toes. Starting with a simple business model, I soon found myself crafting a detailed 17-page document that outlined everything supporting my project and vision.

Now, let's dive into the exciting features that will elevate this product and set it apart. Given the lack of direct competition, I drew inspiration from existing similar sites, including a particular orange-logoed website, to craft proposals and make informed decisions about the features I wanted to include and those I preferred to avoid. Here's a curated list of key features I determined were essential for my product, along with the reasoning behind each selection:

By conducting thorough market research, I gained insights into the factors contributing to the success of other websites, particularly in meeting user needs effectively. While I'm eager to discuss revenue strategies, this information is currently confidential. I envision taking this project to market independently or as part of a team, and divulging such strategic details prematurely wouldn't be prudent, would it?

Let's begin with the users. I've meticulously identified and categorized five distinct user personas, capturing detailed descriptions of their needs, goals, challenges, and behaviors. This comprehensive approach provides valuable insights into the features I need to develop. Here are the personas:

  1. Casual Lurker: This persona is influenced by trends and visits the website due to its popularity. They typically do not create an account; rather, they are here to satisfy their curiosity and explore the content. Despite not registering, they are likely to share their experience with others, contributing to word-of-mouth promotion.

  2. Hardcore consumer: This persona represents a frequent consumer of adult content online. They have clear preferences and expect quick access to desired content. The novelty of the website drives their engagement, but they are likely to lose interest if content availability is limited, leading to potential frustration.

  3. Content uploader: This persona is driven by a specific goal—they have learned about the website's features and are eager to publish their content. They are comfortable with the concept of sharing their lives online and are unafraid to take this step. The notion of leaving a digital legacy has been on their mind for some time, possibly inspired by others who have taken similar actions.

  4. Relative/friend/fan of uploader: This persona has discovered that someone they know has posted content on our website, which motivates them to visit. They are highly intrigued and likely to explore every corner of the site in search of more content from that specific person they admire. This curiosity may lead them to create an account, as they envision the possibility of garnering similar levels of admiration from others.

  5. Celebrity: This persona represents the most experienced user, comfortable with being in the spotlight and accustomed to special treatment in online social interactions and public settings. They are aware of their value online and would consider participating based on the potential profit they could generate from exposing themselves.

Disclaimer: While I have the knowledge and skills to follow a traditional development route, I chose a non-traditional approach for my product to explore alternative methods and potentially discover more effective solutions. Just so you know, because of confidentiality reasons, I won't be sharing the complete details of my development process.

As crucial as product positioning is, I've crafted several strategies to ensure my project stands out and incorporates a few viral campaigns. While I can't divulge all the details yet, I'm excited to gauge your reaction to these ideas. Imagine the impact of these strategies:

Person A: “Have you heard that X person just passed away?”

Person B: “What a shame! They were such nice people…”

Person A: “yeah…”

Person B: “…”

Person A: “Wanna check if they had a pornmortem?”

Short videos and memes serve as effective distribution channels for non-conventional ideas. While traditional methods like advertisements can be effective, they often come with a price tag. My proposal is to initially implement a couple of ideas and assess their reception among our target audience. By measuring reactions, gathering data, and iterating accordingly, we can refine our approach. It's worth noting that most of our identified user personas are not fond of the 'Promoted' label on 'funny videos' as it detracts from the authenticity. Here's an example webcomic I found by Alexrokus (and this is complimentary for you!):

Pornhub has mastered it with their iconic drum intro. That's precisely what I aim to achieve—having people discuss my website as a phenomenon, instantly associating the concepts of death, porn, and online legacy with it. Here's another concept to consider:

Don’t it happen to you that when a person dies, your immediate first thought is: “I wonder if there was porn of them”

Creating and monetizing a controversial website like this comes with its challenges. I've identified several potential issues that I anticipate encountering while bringing this idea to fruition. For now, I'll only list the problems, as the potential solutions are currently part of my confidential strategy.

Thinking ahead
  • Challenges related to age verification and ensuring compliance with legal age restrictions for accessing adult content.

  • Concerns about the ethical implications of profiting from intimate or sensitive content posted by users.

  • Issues with content moderation and ensuring that uploaded content complies with community guidelines and legal requirements.

  • Risks associated with potential hacking or cyber attacks targeting user data or sensitive content.

  • Potential backlash or negative public perception due to the controversial nature of the website's content and purpose.

  • Difficulties in establishing partnerships or obtaining funding from traditional sources due to the nature of the project.

  • Challenges in navigating payment processing and financial transactions for monetized content, particularly in regions with strict regulations or limitations.

  • The need for robust user support and crisis management strategies to address issues such as abuse, harassment, or unauthorized use of content.

  • Legal liabilities and risks of lawsuits from individuals or organizations affected by content posted on the website.

  • Ensuring compliance with evolving privacy laws and regulations, especially regarding data protection and user consent.

I trust that I've provided you with a clear understanding of my vision and goals. I hope this has piqued your interest and inspired you to consider collaborating with me on future projects.
